First Day of High School Letter

Prompts: This is a nerve-wracking day for sure. I still
recall my first day of school. The nervousness, the
anxiety over what to wear and whether I would be
accepted by others. I was also worried about not
knowing people and just feeling unsure. This would be
a superb time to give your kid a confidence booster!

Buzzwords: Have a great day, be yourself, be kind, dress
appropriately-respectful and understated usually is a
good idea, be polite to teachers, smile.

How to Treat Others in Romantic Relationships Letter

Prompts: I think we all want our kids to experience
respectful, romantic relationships. We want our boys to
grow up to treat women well and be loved, and we want
our girls to be strong, confident and not settle for less
than what they deserve.

Buzzwords: Remember school and grades come first,
respect, kindness, importance of “waiting,” make sure
you are treated well, consider adding a do’s and don’ts
section, do not treat others badly, do not hit, do not yell,
talk over issues, go slowly, do not try to make others
feel jealous.
