The Live-On Project
These letters are what this book is really about. Just
sharing your thoughts and encouraging your kids. And
you can do that now, even if the “special occasion” is
somewhere off in the future. It is a “written
connection,” and a time capsule for your feelings before
memories fade.
I’m sure when kids go away now, to college or
otherwise, they stay in touch via email, FaceTime,
Facebook and a variety of other electronic means.
There is not that feeling of being completely separated
anymore. As a result, maybe the communication is not
as deep, when you chat, talk and phone each other so
often throughout the week. Not to say that frequent
communication is a bad thing. It is good, of course.
But, the downside is it encourages a more carefree
communication, and misses the mark on the deeper
connection one would see in handwritten letters sent
via snail mail. You also miss the pleasure of opening up
a letter years later to read your parent’s words. As
someone who has received letters from her own
parents, I can tell you that they are quite extraordinary
to receive at any time. I hope this workbook inspires
you to give your kids something to smile about years
down the road by taking part in the Live-On Project.
Happy Writing!
