The Live-On Project
her a letter from Brad, individually, which talked about
the type of person he knew she would be, to work hard,
study hard, live life with integrity and also talked about
how the right man would treat her. Christie realized
that merely hanging out with older boys would not
make her loved nor accepted. She decided to take an
art class. She also read letters from her mom and feels
less anger towards both of her parents. Things are not
perfect, but they are OK, considering everything this
family went through.
Eva establishes a connection with her kids
when she has the chance:
Paolo and Eva love being parents. Eva lovingly fills out
baby books and they start saving some money for a
college fund for their twins Maria and Bella. They are
the picture of happiness. Suddenly, when the twins are
18, Eva’s mom dies. Eva never emotionally recovers.
She is distant towards Paolo, distant with her kids and is
even surprised herself about how she feels so vacant
and empty inside. She feels she has nothing left to give
and she cannot even believe she feels this way. Paolo
urges her to get therapy and she finally agrees. In the
meantime, her girls feel surprised and upset because
they are getting ready to go to college in two different
cities and feel alone, scared and now uneasy because
their mom is just not the same.
