The Live-On Project

Beth and keeps his memories to himself.

Sally clashes with Abby as she ages and often screams,
“you aren’t my real mother.” Devan feels a void in his
life with the absence of his mom, his dad’s refusal to
talk about it, and his aging grandparents (Beth’s
parents) who don’t speak much at all. He gets into
drugs to help feel better. Things aren’t going well and
they often wonder what their mother was like as a

            person.

                   But what if…

Beth wrote letters to Sally and Devan to be read when
they were entering their tweens, teens, and high school.
Although David doesn’t speak of Beth, Devan has her

letters saying she will always be there and giving him
advice about colleges. He even got a funny letter
mentioning the quirks in his Dad and he was happy to
have an “inside joke” with his mom. On the night of her
junior prom, Sally received a letter and was happy
knowing her mom was saving a dance for her. Beth

also mentioned that if their dad did get remarried, to try
to have patience in dealing with the new wife. Beth’s
goal was for her kids to have a happy life. Life is not
perfect, but under the circumstances, it is better
            because of Beth’s presence.
