But what if…
When the girls were born, when both parents were
healthy and optimistic, they wrote special letters to their
daughters. One letter was to be given when the girls
entered college. Paolo gave the letters to the girls and
they loved the quotes from Eva and her fierce
determination and will. They loved her spunky nature.
They knew their mom was still there but was just going
through something. They felt better about their
situation and were able to transform their fear into
feelings of tenderness and understanding as their mom
mentally recovered.
Hector feels loved that his mom took the
time to write him letters:
Carol loves being a mom. She loves her baby boy
Hector so much and loves doing special things for him.
She has made handprints, baby books and crafts with
her son. Writing these letters is her next step in going
the extra mile for her son. She wants to do every single
thing possible so he knows how much she loves him.
She also loves being prepared and feeling relaxed that
she has accomplished good things for her family.
Carol lives a long life. She is there for Hector’s
milestones. But, her letters are not wasted. At each
milestone or whenever the occasion arises, she hands
