T
o begin the remarkably cool process of capturing
your family legacy, simply follow the pages in this

workbook. The sections are meant to inspire, jolt
ideas in your mind, and propel you forward. Each
section will help you break down the seemingly
daunting task of beginning to write or record your
letters. Any task, no matter how big, can be broken
down into smaller, more manageable parts. Rather
than thinking of the enormity of this project, keep

focused on “why” you are doing it, and take it one page
at a time. Beyond the “letter-writing” section is a form
called “More About Me,” where you can answer
questions about yourself. Feel free to print more copies
and give them to relatives to fill out for your children. I
