Here are six steps to successfully complete the Live-On
project:
Step 1. Contemplate Your Message
Take a few distraction-free minutes to think. What do
you want to tell your kids? The “shoot from the hip”
approach will work, but you should also take the
opportunity to pre-consider some things. A “brain
dump” is a really neat trick to reveal true feelings. Here
is how it works: Grab a notepad and pencil. Set your
phone timer for 2 minutes. Think about your kids, their
futures and the significant milestones in your life and
answer this question:
If you died but had one hour to say as much as possible to
the guardian of your kids, what would you tell them?
Start the timer and write as fast as you can for the full
two minutes. This exercise works when you do not
pause to think but just allow your brain to spit out
ideas. Go ahead and do that now. I hope you got some
good ideas to insert into your letters.
After you take these initial steps, you will visit the Letter
Framework. It is organized into several categories
based on children’s ages and milestones. You can
choose to work on any letters you desire, but it is
always a good idea to start with what you determine to
