The Live-On Project

            Step 5. Leave directions.

Tell at least two people the location and distribution
plan for the letters. I provide a fully-written letter for
this task, which you may download from the website.
You may want to revise this letter to make it specific to
your situation, number of letters and how you saved
            them.

Step 6. Don't wait for perfect.

Most important advice right here. FORGET PERFECTION.
Your imperfect letter means more to your child than no
letter at all. And, quite frankly, true personalities show
through their imperfections. Your family loves you and

will love you more that you took the time to put
anything together! Your grammar or phrasing need not
be perfect. These letters need not say exactly the right
thing. Your efforts will not be wasted or unnoticed.
Future family generations will thank you for taking the
time to create a memory that will remain for decades.

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is
mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk
about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less
upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that
important talk can help us know that we are not alone.
                                 ― Fred Rogers
