The Live-On Project

making her famous cookies or pizzas! Instead, she left
recipe cards but, over the years, they have been passed
down to hands other than mine.

            Step 4. Creation and Preservation

Practically, you will need a way to capture your ideas.
            Options:

               1. Handwrite letters after printing out the
downloadable templates in color, or use your
own stationery. Place in a sealed, titled
                   envelope.
               2. Type letters and print out, place into a
sealed/titled envelope, or save in the cloud,
                   thumb drive or hard drive.
               3. Record videos to save electronically.
               4. Dictate your letters into a notes section of your

                   phone.
               5. Type your letters in Google Drive or Evernote,
which allow you to edit from various devices and
                   also share with others.
               6. Open an email account for your child, or simply
dictate or write emails to yourself with the things
you want to say. I prefer the second method, as
your child will receive the emails staggered,
                   rather than at once.
You should store each paper letter in a fireproof
cabinet, portable safe or safety deposit box. These
letters are your legacy. Treat them well.
