The Live-On Project

Add advice: You will have many important decisions to make from this
time forward. Maybe you already have your job lined up. Maybe you
will pursue more education. Maybe you will start a business. Maybe
you will take some time to travel. Whatever you do, I want you to be
grateful for all that you have, help others, and follow your passion fully
and completely. You do not owe anything to anyone, and no one owes
anything to you. That just means that you need to make your own
dreams come true, and not let anyone hold you back. Find something
you love to do, and just do it. Don’t worry so much about how it will
work out. Trust that your life will work out, it will be full and
abundant and you will make it happen for yourself. However, never
stop learning. Take classes--learn about finances, property, other
languages and anything else that interests you.
Add life memories: I vividly recall my own graduation day from college.
My parents were so excited to be there and know that their daughter
was a college graduate. Neither one went to college so I know it was a
big achievement for them as well. They did not always think I would get
there what with my behavior in high school! I lacked direction and
ambition. I did not know what I wanted to do and I felt lazy. I did not
realize in high school that I did not have to take the straight and
narrow path. I could have just focused on what I wanted to do, and
had faith the success and money would follow. But, I was worried
about “making it” so I went to college, randomly chose a subject that I
thought would help get me into law school, and proceeded almost
automatically. In the end, it worked out for me. I have no regrets
being a lawyer, only that I should have been more willing to change jobs
or start my own law practice earlier, rather than be unhappy doing work
I did not enjoy. If I could do it again, I would listen less to what others
say and just do what made me happy every single day. That is what I
want for you. Do not worry about my expectations for you. Do what
makes you happy, and that will make me happy too.
